We lost our wonderful Dakota in May of 2011.  It was sudden and unexpected as he had gastric torsion or his stomach flipped.  We took him as quick as possible to the vet but with his age and the symptoms we had to put our friend and companion to sleep.  He was a loyal friend and I miss him on my daily walks with the dogs and it is still hard to think about the hunting season without him.
Dakota was a Mayo Kellogg bred chocolate male Labrador Retriever. We purchased him from Kellogg Kennel in South Dakota. He was one of the last dogs bred by Mayo Kellogg before he passed. He had a beautiful deep dark Chocolate coat.  He was a trim 95 lbs.  He loved retrieving on land and in water.  Dakota retrieved quail, dove and ducks in the field. He had a great personality and was great with kids, played with his puppies, and still
thought he was a LAP dog.    Dakota is the sire of Win and Bree
